The ANSI Standard Library assumes interactive console I/O (the stdin, stderr, and stdout streams) is always open. This commandline interface is provided by the Windows95 and Windows NT console applications. You may want to check the headers io.h, crtl.h and process.h for specific Windows console routines. In addition, WinSIOUX.h and the WinSIOUX libraries provide a the Graphical User Interface consisting of a window that is much like a dumb terminal or TTY but with scrolling and cut and paste facilities.
