Search Buttons

The dialog boxes and window include buttons described in this section. Use these buttons to perform your search-and-replace operations. The IDE uses your search criteria to conduct each search.

Table 6.5 describes the search buttons.

Search Buttons:

Button
Description

Find

Click this button to search files for text that matches the search criteria. The IDE selects matching text, scrolls to the selection, and closes the dialog box or window. The IDE beeps after failing to locate matching text.

Find All

Click this button to search files and locate all occurrences of text that match the search criteria. The IDE opens a Search Results window that shows information about the search results, including the file name and line number of each match. The Search Results window reports zero occurrences for an unsuccessful search.

Replace

Click this button to replace the next occurrence of text that matches the search criteria with the text in the Replace field.

Replace All

Click this button to replace every occurrence of text that matches the search criteria with the text in the Replace field. The IDE beeps after failing to locate text that matches the search criteria.

Cancel

Click this button to discard the current search criteria and close the dialog box or window.
